5.1 Kaapsby © 6th September 2020 Peter Snyders supported by Unison Music and LiteratureEven though I have a very large Kaaps wordlist, I prefer to keep myself in the background. I was asked to be one of three adjudicators for the translation of the first eight verses in the Bible from English to Kaaps. After the competition we asked Litnet to give us the names of the competitors. There were twenty of them, but we could only contact eight of them. We used the Litnet numbers assigned to them. The names and numbers are given below: 1. Kyle Deon Manuel 2. Denver Breda 5. Christo Meyer 8. Ivor Swartz11. Ilne Fourie12. Rovwena Bestenbier19. Hendry Kortje20. Hein KleinbooiIn future, we will give your name and number when we show how you applied the rule, but if there are a few of you, we may have to give only the number to save space and time. There is no copyright on words; if there were we would not be able to speak and write. Also, we do not know who first created the word. But we are doing our best to credit the source from which we obtained our examples. While on this point, please note that we show you the rule, but how you apply the rule is all up to you. The first principle of writing down a language is: We write the way we speak. When we get to the phase of making a dictionary of Kaaps we will use rules to decide what is the best word and spelling to use. So, continue writing the way you speak. This means that there can be several ways to apply the rule. So, do not change your spelling. When we look at the spelling rules to use by convention i.e. by mutual consent, we will look at all the options. Think of rules as options. We said earlier that languages that only use the five main vowels do not need to create new vowels by simply expressing them in versions higher and/or lower, further forward and/or backward in the mouth or writing vowels together like the ee and oo as in the Afrikaans words for been (leg or bone) and hoor for hear.Languages, like isiXhosa and isiZulu that also use the five main vowels do not have such sounds and diphthongs or other such means of adding new words to the inventory (collection of sounds). They use other means that are foreign to the West such as clicks, unusual consonant combinations such as dl and hl and aspiration or ejection (the phoneme, syllable or word is thrust out by an added gust of air) as in isi-Xhosa and isi-Zulu languages. The aspirated word, similar to Kora, is accompanied with an h such as the two isiXhosa words bala (count) and bhala (write). These two words have different meanings due to the aspiration. Kora also uses tonality. Please read this up yourself in Chapter Three (3) under 3.4 The Kora system of tone melodies in. Prof. Du Plessis’s Kora. Later we will explain simply how tonality works using the punctuation system of the West. So, now you also know why Kaaps is a musical language e.g. “Djy moet buk vi jou geluk.” (Used by a hawker in Gatesville to advise that the bargains are on the ground.) We inherited this wonderful tuneful way of speaking Kaaps from our Khoikhoi ancestors. We will not be investigating clicks, aspirations and tonalities at all – not even in the other four phases of Kaaps because these have obviously not survived in any of the phases given below: 1. Pidgin (the origin of a language.) This the Kora-Dutch phase.2. Creole (when the pidgin is spoken by the young as a new language. In South Africa this phase has been helped on by slaves, further Kora speakers, and some Western languages that settled here.)3. English phase (It became especially contributory to Kaaps after the settlement of many English from 1820 and onwards.)4. Afrikaans phase. (This phase forced Afrikaans down onto Coloureds and blacks since 1948 when the Afrikaners began ruling the politics.)5. Modern Kaaps phase. (This phase was started by S.V. Petersen, Adam Small and yours truly before 1994 but before and after this date, Kaaps took over the reins and began to swell along many fronts.)Besides the above, Kaaps did not have the luxury of being recorded by any means until quite recently (including yourselves). That which hás been written in books are superficial and biasedly influenced by the vanquishers. So, much of our language has been lost to Afrikaans that claimed Kaaps’s linguistic creations as their own accomplishments. Please also keep in mind that all other influences other than those by the Dutch and Kora in 1652 must be excluded. Even the Kora has changed, and if not much, the dictionary that Prof. Du Plessis compiled of her own research together with those former excellent field workers, is our foundation, but it too is limited. If you have not yet downloaded Kora, please click onto the link below and do so.https://sahistory.org.za/archive/kora-lost-khoisan-language-early-cape-and-gariep-menan-du-plessis

5.1 Absent Father of KaapsBy Peter Snyders 21.4.2022 GWe will always be faced with the same problem with regard to Kaaps. It was not only never recognised, it was derided, diminished to a slang, patois, jargon and other derogatory terms in an attempt to kill it. We were also always kept in a semi-slave condition. Even in the 1950’s (300 years after Van Riebeeck’s landing here) it was rare to find a Coloured with a university degree. Our high school principal, felt so unique with his Bachelor of Arts degree, he had a rubber stamp made which said S V Petersen, B.A. and he used it after everything he had to sign. So, we were never prepared to tackle the workings of Kaaps. Even today, when anybody can graduate with a degree, we have many Coloureds who are highly qualified but not one of them has so far showed that they know how Kaaps works. It is all talk with them. All intellect. No understanding. You can’t know anything about a language by reading many literary papers and theses and then quote all over the place. You need to be an indigenous speaker of the language and know something about how languages work. So, we will always be faced with a modern Kaaps that contains all the phases. Our first task is to trace how Kaaps originated and we want to do so as scientifically (i.e. with as much proof) as possible. We cannot prove everything that has happened when the Koranner and the Dutch first attempted to communicate in order to barter. Fortunately, we have the Science of Knowledge based on the Indian Epistemological systems that were founded by Masters with a spiritual knowledge far superior to the mundane academic knowledge of this world. So, when we try to establish why we are speaking in a particular way, we have to first put aside everything that have been added in the later phases. The situation is complex, but with the epistemic (knowledge) tools (pramanas) at our disposal, we have sufficient resources to reconstruct any particular phase of Kaaps. The prime requirement in the pursuit of spiritual knowledge is experience. So, instead of dreaming things up with the mind (something which spiritual scientists consider the most unreliable tool), we take the trouble to learn by direct experience anything we think we need to know in order to understand our own knowledge. There is so much written about pidgin in linguistic and other books. But we have yet to come across a linguist who has actually taken the trouble to learn the indigenous language by heart. Dutch is erroneously and far too greatly credited by latter day Afrikaner linguists with the formation of what they call “Afrikaans dialects”. Yes, there is some Dutch in Kaaps, but this father of pidgin Kaaps was never present in the life of the new-born pidgin. Just as he abused the women slaves to merely ‘fructify’ (to use Jan van Riebeeck’s word) them for the pleasure and to increase the slave numbers because a child born of a slave was automatically also a slave. Like the fathers who disappear after their children are born, so, too, was it with the Dutch. To them Pidgin Kaaps was just a convenient accident. The only sustenance that Pidgin Kaaps had, was the other parent, Kora. When the Dutch – and all the other visitors to the Cape – had finished their bartering, they returned to their barracks without a single thought of the tiny communication breakthrough that was made that day, by the indigene! That core of information exchange was left solely to the other party and his ignorantly typified so-called ‘barbarous language’.And so the Koranner went home and tried to understand the foreigner’s language. The mother gives love, support, sustenance and care to her new-born child. She can only give the baby what she has within her. And so it was with Pidgin Kaaps. As we have shown in our first letter that Kora also has greetings like “good morning, good afternoon and good evening.” We will prove, one day, that the Khoikhoi and San were actually living in the Kingdom of Heaven before the colonisers came to turn their lives in to a hell which is still plaguing the Khoisan descendants. So, without pride and selfish power, the Khoikhoi humbly put their own language aside when trying to help the foreigner with the needs that they required. As we have said with overwhelming proof from science, no one and nothing can change the inherent, internalised and eternalised rules of a language. So the few Dutch scraps the Koranner skilfully adapted to accommodate the infiltrator’s language together with the essence of the mother-tongue, Kora, the language which became Kaaps, our language, with an absent father. And when the father was indeed present, he despised his offspring. So, Kora, the language of the indigenes, provided the pidgin with the womb and formed it until its birth. This responsibility and the care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise, has, and still is, hampered by false and misleading impressions which spiritual practitioners find completely immoral. This depravity includes false ideas about racial superiority, a false imagining of Western civilization; Apartheid, a system completely and utterly thrown out by the divinity; and prejudice, built on completely erroneous, unscientific ideas of whiteness.

Hi Guys6.8.2026This is the 30th post since we started on 24th May 2026. I am four posts ahead because I have some challenging problems that also need my attention. Just one more thing: when you visit our blog at kaapsculture.org , and you wish to find the first of a series, go to the highest number. If you have three numbers like 3, 6 and 9, go to 9. Here you will find the oldest posts. If you have numbers like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, go to 6. If you would like to see the latest posts, go to 1.Stay warmPeter Snyders Laura9.8.2026Thank you for your concern. I was once in Durban for no more than three days, but I do not think I met you.Do you notice how Afrikaans is becoming a spiritual language? Look up Matthew 10:19 - 20. Just look at Kelders van geheime and Paradys. I studied Afrikaans as a major at University, but it is not my part to write on the origins of Afrikaans. I think linguists all over the world are going to learn some things from my unorthodox approach. There are already many in South Africa who are calling for the recognition of Kaaps, but perhaps I shall come across someone who knows how to do it.Stay blessedPeter Hi Guys20.8.2026I posted 4.1 Pramanas without a photo. Sorry. I will do so next time.We were off for a while, and after they put us on again, it was all a mess. Add to that, I had Adware, a kind of hacking, but eventually, after many attempts, I found it in OneDrive as Personal Vault. I deleted it. The site even tells you that it is not welcome in it. Spiritual matters require more than what physical proofs use. This is why we post the Spiritual proofs. If you look at the blog Perception or an earlier version of Pramanas, you will be able to browse the first Pramana. There are six, but four are mainly used. So next we will post Comparison.Have a great dayPeter Snyders Hi Guys23.8.2026For those of you who couldn't work out the name of the blog, it is: kaapsculture.org.Sleep wellPeter Hi Guys26.8.2026Today we are posting on our blog kaapsculture.org,4.2 God Makes Heaven and Earth. We will be asking questions on this blog as we have been doing before. 1966 to 1976 we had a spiritual guide, Timothy Friswell, who said: "We do not know the correct answers because we do not ask the right questions."In Matthew 7:7. Jesus says: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8. for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9. Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone; 10. or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12. All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets."This is the way to get to the spirituality of things. Remember the Law of Karma: for every action there is a consequence. So, not asking etc. is really meant only for those who are too far away from spirituality. The Buddha says that there are four types of humans. The fourth or worst type is for "those who do not know that they do not know." These are those who will argue with you without a credible option of their own. They will drench you. Buddha's recommendation towards such humans is to "shun them."Sincerest regards to all you questioners. Peter Snyders Hi Guys1.8.2026I stated that I was nearly 87 years of age, and it did not worry me because I was doing yoga and taking walks. I thought I could do this blog for at least another year, but now I am feeling rundown. I hope I can restore myself soon.Do visit the blog site at kaapsculture.org.I am trying to get back to 'normal.'Kindest regardsPeter Snyders Menan Du Plessis 5 Aug 2026, 19:48 Dear PeterI really hope the prednisone has you feeling better soon.
4.2 Kaaps
(© 4th September 2020 by Peter Snyders)We do not believe that the Western way of “proving” a statement by giving several quotes, references, and a bibliography is liable to mislead. Any spiritual practitioner can see when there is error or deception. The current system is a flawed system. We believe that the Eastern Science of obtaining true knowledge (truth) is to experience the facts – or errors – oneself. So, that is what you must do. You must look at your own way of writing and see which rules you are using. If you do not do this, then everything you know about Kaaps would be nothing short of parrot learning, i.e., knowledge without understanding through experience. Never change your spelling – there can be more than one rule for how to spell a word in Kaaps. We try to limit our choices of Kaaps words to a maximum of three syllables, but perhaps, with the next letter, we can attach all the contributors' words. Then you will see the diverse ways different writers spell the same word. Then, with all these rules available to us, as well as some reading rules, we could conventionalise (form by agreement) the best spellings to use, but never create a standard as language patriarchs do, and then expect Kaapsers to speak their writing rules! The speaker will always be king or queen of our language. With the Creative Commons Copyright (please Google and read the Wiki’s article), you are hereby given the right to share these articles about Kaaps free of any charge with anyone you think may benefit from them. I tested negative for Covid 19, so I thought it was the best time to take the vaccine. I became so ill that I could hardly even turn my torso slightly without getting lung pains.I fought this crazy vaccine because my Master (Supreme Master Ching Hai) did not appear to me to tell me when I would die. After I recovered, I refined what I had written to you – as you can see - and wrote lots of other things. We are open to receiving a few pages from anyone who writes in Kaaps. We will not have the time to extract the words. So, we ask you to create a custom.dic and all the Kaaps words that you tell your Microsoft dictionary to add to the dictionary will be stored in it. You then send us two to three pages plus the text you had copied. Please also add the meanings of words or anything you think is peculiar about the word. If you can have a Kaaps, Meaning, Afrikaans, Dutch, and English column, it will help. If you do not know Dutch, try to find someone to write it in.I only did Dutch as one-third of Afrikaans I at UNISA in 1981. I taught myself Dutch when I wanted to see how Dutch affected Kaaps. I did Linguistics I at UWC in 1986 because they did not offer English II and Afrikaans II that year. I knew absolutely nothing about languages, but something inside me said that I must not lose that year. For the first semester, I received 85% pass mark while 85% students failed. So, I decided to do Linguistics as my second major with Afrikaans because I did not see myself spending a year of English III, which dealt with Old English. So that is how I attained my Linguistics III major.Peter Snyders Edited 14.10.2024Thought for the day: Although their faults are theirs and not ours, should we discriminate, we too are wrong. Huineng - Sixth Patriarch of Zen

And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.6. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.7. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.8. And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.9. And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.10. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.11. And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, [and] fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so.12. And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good.13. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.14. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years:15. and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.16. And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.17. And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth,18. and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.19. And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.20. And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.21. And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good.22. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.23. And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.24. And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind: and it was so.25. And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the ground after its kind: and God saw that it was good.26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.27. And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.28. And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.29. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:30. and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, [I have given] every green herb for food: and it was so.31. And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.Genesis Chapter 21. And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.2. And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.3. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.Notes: We have used the American Standard Version of the Bible because the compilers try to distinguish the different sources of the Bible. The first three verses from Chapter Two of Genesis obviously belong to Chapter One. It is the conclusion of the creation story by some deities other than Jehovah. Our focus will be on Jehovah, so we will be brief with regard to other sources. Note that wherever the American Standard version uses the term God or Gods and even angel/s, judge/s, sons of God, and others, the text was probably written by the writer who uses El (singular) or Elohim (plural) for God. (The source is described as E by Biblical scholars.) We will discuss the four sources of the Bible at some later time. This is the foundation section of the Bible. If we can find the answers to some difficult questions, it will put us in a position to upgrade from religious to spiritual. Up to here, we are not going into detail. The spiritual practitioner would have many questions, for example: Was there a beginning? If there were, what was there before the beginning? Why did God create the heaven and earth at that particular time? Why not earlier? Or later? What did God do before He created the Heavens and the earth? What about the universe? Who made God? Light was made on the first day, but the sun, moon, and stars were made on the fourth day. What is the difference? God made the plants and trees on the third day; how could they grow if sunlight was only made on the fourth day? What about photosynthesis, which needs light? Were there more than one Creator? Genesis1: 26. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” And what about this verse of Genesis 1: 29? “And God said [to the humans], ‘Behold, I have given you every herb [vegetables] yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.” Does this mean that humankind should be vegetarian, or vegan, considering the cruelty to cows and sheep? What does science say about creation? What do the religions in the far east, like Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc., say about the creation? If any of you have some answers, we would like to hear them.Logical answers to these questions could fill a book or books. It would be one of a kind. Here’s your chance to get into print.© 9.1.2024 7.2.2024G

4.1 PramanasBy Peter Snyders © 8th April 2024If you would like to research spiritual knowledge yourself, you may wish to look up the word pramana. If you would like to take it step by step as we are doing, look up the first pratyakasa which means perception. In our first (or previous) blogspot on Perception we spoke of external sources of knowledge. These are what we perceive through our external senses. But is everything we see always true? What if we are travelling in a car and see some distance ahead of us, that the road is covered with water? When we get to the place where we thought that we saw some water, there is no water at all? Where did the water go? Or perhaps we should ask: What did I see? What we saw was an illusion [a misleading image presented to the vision: something that deceives or misleads intellectually: perception of something objectively existing in such a way as to cause misinterpretation of its actual nature]. It was a hot day and black, like the tar of the road, absorbing heat quickly. When it cannot take any more heat, it dissolves all the extra heat into heat waves. That is what we saw as water: heat waves. Now the explanation for such a perception is caused and can be explained by external means. All we have to do is research the topic or ask someone who also travels by car.The same applies to the many deceptions in the written documents. In them the white writers deride peoples from non-white countries. Do we just believe everything that we read, or hear? Science and religions – and especially also spirituality, want us to look up things that we come across for the first time. If we can’t we should read books widely. This would expose us to more views on the subject. We will then be able to - also externally – argue the correct treatment about the indigenous peoples and remove the contempt and laughter at our forefathers as being backward, primitive, savage and brute among other insulting limited extents of their vision. What if we cannot test or prove anything externally? What if a person walks down a road and sees a man coming along about 100 hundred meters away and somehow s/he just knows that this person is going to do some evil to /her/him? What would you do? This is called internal perception. Women and spiritual practitioners have this perception more developed than the masses. It is a form of accurate knowledge, but we can only prove what we are feeling spiritually. This part of perception or pratyaksa is called ‘passive or internal knowledge.’ Internal perception is described as an inner sense. This correct perception does not change. You may remember it as intuition.Intuition is the spiritual part of truth. This kind of knowledge is found in scriptures but many people who do not have much intuition manifested within themselves, believe what they read in so-called “holy books” as the truth. As one becomes more spiritual, the intuition (inner teaching) will develop, and we will be able to experience the passive truth more directly. This is why all true scriptures tell their viewers to test, prove, examine and explore everything before they believe it.* * * * * * *The second science and study of Pramanas is called Anumana or Inference. It is the means of reaching a new truth from one or more observations and previous truth/s. Reason is a main deductive principle. An example of Inference is when one infers that there is a fire somewhere where smoke is seen. This is an easy example because it is well known that we cannot have smoke without fire. The method of Inference is explained by Indian texts as consisting of three parts:1. Hypothesis (pratijna). “A Hypothesis is an assumption or concession made for the sake of argument: an interpretation of a practical situation or condition taken as the ground for action: a tentative assumption made in order to draw out and test its logical or empirical consequences.” Merriam-Webster Dictionary.2. A Reason (hetu). A Reason is a “statement offered in explanation or justification: a rational ground or motive: a sufficient ground of explanation or of logical defence: something (as a principle or law) that supports a conclusion or explains a fact: the thing that makes some fact intelligible: the power of comprehending, inferring, or thinking esp. in orderly rational ways.” Merriam-Webster Dictionary.3. Examples (drshtanta).
