<h2>2.2 Kaaps</h2>(© 4th September 2020 by Peter Snyders)&nbsp;Both Buddhism and Western Science rely solely on Perception and Inference, two of the six means of obtaining true knowledge (facts or truth). We do not have to use a lot of hair-splitting. We go directly to the inquiry.Using Perception of the present, how would an Afrikaner with no knowledge of isiXhosa communicate if the Xhosa person has also never heard of Afrikaans? By using this present-day situation, we can apply the particular to the universal if the approach of our characters is the same worldwide. Having said this, we can expect that Jan van Riebeeck would be the one to approach the Khoikhoi pastoral farmer because he was in need.&nbsp;Note that, for the sake of simplicity and to avoid ornamentation, we use a closed system in which we assume there was no prior contact. All this may have happened before Van Riebeeck’s arrival, but they would have had to take the same course. Our present-day perception (as per our example/analogy) supports our reasoning.Since Jan would customarily be the first one to speak, he would most likely greet and say: “Goede morgen” (Good morning), “Goede middag” (Good afternoon), or less likely (unless the meeting happened after the flock had returned home from grazing), “Goeden avond.” (Good evening.) These Dutch words are not pronounced the way they are written or how the Dutch speak them. Some of the sounds do not resonate with the collection of Kora sounds, so they must be ignored or adapted by the Koraners (Kora-speaking natives). The innovative word would then go into the new language (Pidgin Kaaps), which is about to be formed.The Khoikhoi livestock farmer would not understand the Hollander, but he would guess that the visitor was greeting him, especially if the stranger also made a greeting gesture. Whereupon the Khoikhoi would reply: ǃãi ǁoab (Good morning), ǃãi ǃ’uri (Good afternoon), or ǃãi ǃ’uib (Good evening). From the examples given above, can you write down the word for “good” in Dutch and Kora?These two languages have no rational ground for communication. We will discover more estrangement when we look at the phonetics (the system of speech sounds of a language or group of languages) of the expressions. Kora is a complex language, ǃ, |, ǁ, and ǂ being clicks, ã is nasalised, and ’ indicates that the sound is ejected by some force.Next Van Riebeeck, intuitively knowing that he too was greeted, especially if the Khoikhoi person made the same gesture, would probably ask, “Spreek je Hollands?” or more formally “Spreekt u Hollands?”&nbsp;When the Indigenous man is still confused, Van Riebeeck may try, “Ik heet Jan” (My name is Jan.) or “Ik ben Jan.” (I am Jan.)&nbsp;Of the three vowels in the latter, two (ê and a) correspond to two of the five vowels in the Kora sound list (inventory). The uh sound of ik (I) is not in Kora. This latter sound is called a schwa. The Khoikhoi would probably adapt the schwa to ê whenever they had to use it, and express ik as ek. As we go deeper into Kora and Pidgin Kaaps, we will be able to account for many Dutch words that had been modified by the Kora speaker and so become part of Pidgin-Kaaps.&nbsp;The Indigene would not utter the Dutch words because, as with any child, the meaning of these sounds evades the Khoi man. Then Van Riebeeck may use the point system of a child who is beginning to talk. He would point to himself and say, “Jan.”&nbsp;This is the way a child learns words. She points at something concrete (a noun), and the family member gives the name. This is also the way that all pidgins (trading languages) begin.&nbsp;Eventually, the Khoikhoi will understand the sounds he did not understand at first, but if any sound is foreign to him, he would use a sound from his own collection of sounds. To give an example, in Kora, there is no uh or e(r), (schwa), as in words like this, the, learn, family, member.&nbsp;In our older language versions of Kaaps, e.g., Bokaap-Kaaps and Rehoboth Baster- Kaaps, we find a very ingenious substitution in the word gesig (face); it is pronounced gaseg. (Notice that the choice of an alternative sound from the language that makes the adaptations is not always predictable. Here, two vowels from the same inventory (collection of sounds) from Kora are used to replace the two schwas.At last, the Khoikhoi man understands, but when he repeats Van Riebeeck’s name, it isn’t quite the same. It is more likely to be Djã. Why can’t the Khoikhoi say Jan with a j like the y as in you? And why omit the n or why not substitute another phoneme (sound of a letter)? This is because the rules of the two languages differ. Every language has its own rules, and it is these rules of Kora that have survived in Kaaps.&nbsp;

It would wipe out the hackers. Or better still, since Google is so smart, they could trace the hackers and have them imprisoned.Number 6Cell phone hackingWe once got a message from SARS saying that they owe us R68 845,32. Hackers know that people fall for fast money. We knew that SARS did not owe us any money, so we answered the WhatsApp telling SARS this. Later, when we checked our eFiling, there was no such thing message from SARS.Do not fall for any easy money. When we decided to let SARS know about the hack, the hacker had removed the SMS. When something like this happens to you, take it immediately to the business concerned. They may have a way of tracing hackers.Number 7How do they hack you afterwards?1. &nbsp; &nbsp; They hack your computer while it is on and you are not there.2. &nbsp; &nbsp; They use the fake details of your new email address, etc., that you gave them to hack into your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) website, like Cakewalk, for example. Cakewalk is very aware of hackers, and you may have to change your password every time you log in.3. &nbsp; &nbsp; They hack you while you are working on your computer. If you enter a search term in the top-right corner of your My PC site, you will see a circular motion while they search through all your files and folders. Well, this circular motion you will see at the top left-hand side of the window you are using when you are being hacked while you are using your computer. Switch off immediately.4. &nbsp; &nbsp; When you find that you cannot copy the whole of an email from Google to your computer, then this is another way that they can enter your computer’s content. Abandon the project.5. &nbsp; &nbsp; When you can copy an email to your computer, you will see near the sender’s email address a message continually saying something like “Connecting with the source.” Switch off your computer every time you see this trick to hack your sender’s computer.6. &nbsp; &nbsp; If you desperately need to copy the email, select only the part or parts that do not have the sender’s email address. This way you will find that you can receive a copy of the entire email.Share: Share this post with as many of your friends and businesses as possible.We will someday post an article on Hells. People who commit many crimes, like killing, stealing, telling lies, etc., go to the worst hells (narakas). Start Googling Buddhist hells. You will then also obtain the Chinese, Japanese, and Tibetan hells, which roughly correspond to the Buddhist hells.&nbsp;Supreme Master Ching Hai says that deep hells are mostly for presidents and other high-ranking individuals. This is because they make wars, are corrupt, and lie to their voters. Hackers deceive and steal from people. Males and females who fall for well-paying jobs overseas may find that they must do hacking or prostitution. If they do not bring in their quota, they are cruelly beaten up. There are no wages either. If you can find someone who could trace their operating system, you will receive many merits that make you qualify for one of the heavens. Google also the ‘heavens’ in Buddhism and other religions.If you would like a broad idea of the real nature of heaven and hell, Google also Judaism, Islam, and Christianity heavens and hells. See which of their ideas you believe in. The best way to escape hell is to feel deeply aggrieved at what you have done to others. If you are a spiritual practitioner, at a certain stage, things that you did which you did not consider wrong will put you into a mental and emotional purgatory in this life.If you can help free those enslaved hackers, you will receive many spiritual merits. Think of ways that you can contact them. We think that you can create a file and name it "Hackers " in capital letters and place it on your desktop, where it will be easily noticed. In the file, you can say that you know that the hacker is forced to commit all those criminal acts. Tell the hacker that if he gives you his location or full address, you can set his freedom in motion.I would not give this information to the police. I suggest you send an email to Microsoft, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), or to the Hawks. You could also send a message to the President’s Hotline. Mention that they should also give the information to Interpol. If your desktop is so full of files and folders that the hacker will not see the file addressed to him, then ask someone with a few items on his/her desktop to do this mission.&nbsp;

<h3>2.2 Bushmen</h3>By Peter Snyders&nbsp;We have only used the term Khoe-Sān to show that the Bushmen and Khoe-khoe had a common origin, which is why they both speak the rare click language. Bushmen were so-called by the Dutch as “Bosjesmans” because they did not have actual homes. They couldn’t because - especially in the Kalahari, where they had to be continually on the go for food after they had left enough for more to grow and serve them on their return.From here, they will meet up with their other lineage, the Khoe, again sometime later when the Khoe-khoe entered South Africa about 300 years BCE (before the common era).Yes, their women foraged for roots, berries, and other edible foodstuffs while the men tried to hunt a wild animal. And, yes, they sought out a bush or a cave because it was senseless to have the block houses like the 17th century and onward, as the imperialists had. [Imperialists are people who practice or advocate the policy of extending the power and dominion of a nation, esp. by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas; broadly: the extension or imposition of power, authority, or influence. Merriam-Webster Dictionary] Aside: It sounds like just another word for colonists, settlers, or conquistadors.So, of all the pejorative [disparaging or belittling] names given to San or Bushmen, they accepted Bushmen as being the closest, in Enlightened terms, that resembled their way of life. But with the Khoikhoi, having become pastoralists [people of a social organisation based on livestock raising as the primary economic activity. Merriam-Webster Dictionary] and calling themselves Khoikhoi (Khoekhoe) [superior men because they owned livestock and did not have to wander in search of food as the Bushmen], added this negativity to the white man’s blind-sided view of the San as also being “connotations of poverty, low status, thievery and scavenging.”&nbsp;Writer Megan Biesele who would like to ‘ennoble’ the word Bushmen notes “One Ju/’hoan leader made the ‘Bushmen’ preference to ‘San” at a community meeting in 1991, the year after Namibia’s independence, while Ju/’hoan’s brother at the same meeting said he ‘never wanted to hear the term [San] used again in post-Apartheid Namibia’. Many at the meeting had never heard the word ‘San’, and no one present argued in favour of its use.” In: Alan Barnard 2007: Anthropology and the Bushman, p.7Let us end by asking: “What do the Bushmen call themselves?” Let us first apply the Perception Pranama and test the validity of our source:“We (Elizabeth Marshall Thomas and others) have crossed this desert three times, my family and I, on three expeditions, which usually numbered between ten and fourteen people and included my father, my mother, my brother, and myself, as well as several other Europeans who were linguists, zoologists, botanists; or archaeologists; sent by universities of the Union of South Africa (probably University of South Africa, UNISA), England, or the United States, as well as four or five Bantu men - several interpreters, a cook, and a mechanic - who were the staff.&nbsp;“We usually travelled in four big trucks and a jeep, and had to carry all our food and water, gasoline, and equipment in supplies to last us for several months. We crossed great drought areas, once crossing four hundred miles of the central desert of Bechuanaland, where there was no water at all, and once travelling every day for two weeks into an unmapped part of the desert of South-West Africa, close to the Bechuanaland border, where we found a waterhole and refilled our empty drums. All this was for the purpose of filming and studying the life and customs of the people of the Kalahari, who are called the Bushmen.”Elizabeth Marshall Thomas 1959: The Harmless People p.19She was nineteen years old when Elizabeth Thomas started on their missions and afterwards, in 1979, authored the book, The Harmless People, which has to this day never stopped selling. She was not only untainted by the downgrading racism of the time, but she also brought her non-discriminating family along.&nbsp;They came with their Western resources but soon came to realise how ill-equipped the Western one-sided view of the Bushmen's existence was. They were experiencing a touch of it themselves. Why? All for the madness “of filming and studying the life and customs of the people of the Kalahari, who are called the Bushmen.” Quite different from the 97% white-written books concocted in a fancy study using the hearsay of other biased people, some of whom (like Jan van Riebeeck in 1647) had not even seen a Bushman or Khoikhoi indigene in his eight-day stop with a fleet of twelve ships at the Cape, but he referred to them as ‘brutes, savages who cannot be trusted at all.’But how long was the Elizabeth Thomas group with the Bushmen?The back cover of the David Philip Africasouth Paperbacks 1988 Print says that Elizabeth Thomas and her family spent four years in all in the Kalahari to study the life of the hunting-and-gathering Bushmen. What does Thomas herself say about this enigmatic community of J/wasi Sān?

2.2. Bushmen

<h2>2.1 Kaaps</h2>(© 4th September 2020 by Peter Snyders)We will be using some of the six means of gaining correct knowledge called pramanas in Sanskrit. The first pramana is Perception, and one aspect of Perception is that it can only be applied to the present. This is obvious because our senses cannot see, hear, smell, etc., in the past or the future.We, therefore, look at what is in front of us as Jesus says in the Gospel of Thomas: “Know what is in your sight and that which is hidden will be revealed unto you.” Once we can see what is there for us to perceive, we can then rise above our direct perceptions and go beyond our limits (transcend).We do not know exactly what transpired when Jan van Riebeeck met with Autshumao (whom he called Harry/Herrie), who was the Khoisan head of trade for the needs of ships in the Table Bay area. Autshumao was sent to Bantam, an English post in the far east, to learn English. It is often mentioned in the Van Riebeeck Journals that Autshumao spoke “broken English.” The Dutch could understand English, so Jan van Riebeeck could, for the most part, understand Autshumao when he and a friend went aboard Van Riebeeck’s ship on the 7th April 1652.&nbsp;The Dutch were at war with England, and the Heren Seventien. The directors of the Dutch East India Company had given instructions that their employees were not to yield to the Indigenous language. So, Van Riebeeck and his colleagues would have tried to include as many Dutch words as possible in the conversation. We are going to scour the Journals of Jan van Riebeeck for first-hand knowledge of what happened in those early settler days. So, this, and the fact that he had set foot at the Cape before, for only eighteen (18) days, means that he, too, knew nothing about Kora (the Cape Khoikhoi language).Please allow us to point out some important procedures that we are employing. We are not trying to impress academics, so we will not be splitting any hairs. We aim to communicate with the ordinary humans on the ground, in a direct and as simple a way as possible. So, we will try our best to limit the technical (linguistic). A technical term, however, reduces the whole explanation to a single word.&nbsp;The term “phonology,” which we will come across often, means, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the science of speech sounds, including esp. the history and theory of sound changes in a language or in two or more related languages: the phonetics and phonemics of a language at a particular time. Phonetics and phonemics are also strange to the masses that do not venture into high-brow stuff.&nbsp;So, let us see what Merriam-Webster has to say about them. Phonetics is ‘the system of speech sounds of a language or group of languages: the study and systematic classification of the sounds made in spoken utterance. The practical application of this science to language study and phonemics is (we are simplifying) the specific sound in a language, irrespective of how it is written.&nbsp;For example, the vowels in English words such as us, some, country, and what are all the same as the vowels in Kaaps words such as gat, lam, and kas. To use the technical term would save much time. So, when we use a linguistic term, we will give as short a meaning as possible – often just another word we are more acquainted with – in brackets.Also, we know that the Khoikhoi at the Cape had met the crews of many European nations and that a Pidgin consisting of only a few words with respect to bartering was used with Portuguese, English, and Dutch. Our main concern is the origin of the language, Kaaps, which no one can argue was influenced to a great extent by Dutch.Again, we know of the ship with 250 men that wrecked at Mouille Point. They stayed for four months without incident. The Khoikhoi must have picked up some Dutch words from them. Two years later, the Haarlem wrecked somewhere near Milnerton, and that crew stayed at the Cape for an entire year until they were picked up in 1647 and returned to their fatherland. Again, we are not going to bore you with all the academic details. We are probably using the best system to acquire true knowledge.&nbsp;So, we are using comparison to establish a representative picture of the situation. Using the facts of perception as they universally apply, we infer other facts. (By inference, the knowledge is acquired by beginning with a proven fact and deducing in a scientific-like way a second proven fact. Inference is like the way of mathematics. Alan Barnard of his Anthropology and the Bushmen writes: “The word ‘Bushman’ is certainly not without its problems. Indeed, the same can be said for the currently more politically correct term ‘San’, which historically and in the Khoekhoe dialects in which it is found has carried connotations of poverty, low status, thievery and scavenging, as well as purposeful food-gathering (that being perhaps its most literal translation).”&nbsp;&nbsp;Alan Barnard: Anthropology and the Bushmen 2007 on p.x.Alan Barnard survives our pramana test of personal perception because he has spent some time among some Bushmen (we write the term with the capital letter it deserves). As usual, we start at the foundation. This will be covered in more detail under the section on the Evolution of Humans, but we will use only a small amount of it to create our basis here.Remember that we only point out the direction to you. Those of you who want a firmly founded identity will go out and build your house upon a rock (Matthew 7:24-25). So, Google “Khoisan” and download what interests you, but be sure to download the article from Wiki under the same name. What I so much like about Wiki is that all the very high-quality writings are authorless, in other words, completely selfless, one of the main ingredients to get into the Kingdom of Heaven.Wiki: Khoisan: “Khoisan, or Khoe-Sān, is a catch-all term for those indigenous peoples of Southern Africa who do not speak one of the Bantu languages, combining the Khoekhoen (formerly "Hottentots") and the Sān peoples (formerly "Bushmen"). Khoisan populations speak click languages and are considered to be the historical (pre-Bantu) communities in the South African Cape region, through to Namibia, where Khoekhoe populations of Nama and Damara people are prevalent groups, and Botswana.”We are going to change this mention of the early group of people to Khoi (men or people) more correctly, Khoe. This is because they were all hunter-gatherers. In Kora’s Kora to English dictionary, the word khoe, is pronounced khowe or [khowε]. The suffixes b, s, and i determine gender, where khoeb is male, khoes is female, and khoei is neutral. (In German, a neutral person is under the age of eighteen.)We are so fortunate today that science has discovered that the mtDNA haplogroup L0 is found in the southern African ancestral Khoisan, and that everyone, irrespective of race, has this gene within them. The Khoe, later Khoi-khoi (men of men) and Saan, or Bushmen, were one group, some 260,000 to 350,000 years ago. The MIS 5 mega drought struck this central, southern African group 130,000 years ago, and the ancestral population was obliged to find survival means elsewhere. (Still from Wiki, but simplified)&nbsp;It is at this time that the Khoe split came with part of the Khoe (later to become Bushmen or San) moving southwards, where they expanded their purposeful techniques of gathering natural food. It is wrong for whites to typify the existence of the Khoekhoe and Bushmen (San) as primitive and savage, as they often had what the Europeans did not have, even at this time. Despite occasional droughts, they always had food, unlike the poor today.The Khoe (the splitting of the diphthong is where Khoi was created by Europeans) trekked northwards. Here, they were not welcomed by the bearers of the haplogroup L1-6 in central and eastern African regions. Wiki also has a reference 13: [Crowe, Tim (4 February 2016)]. “How the origin of the KhoiSan tells us that ‘race’ has no place in human history.” The Wiki writer goes on to add that this Khoe group went on to populate Europe and Asia by stating: “this group carried DNA from Eurasian as well as some Neandertal groups.” (If you search this Wiki article, all you have to do is just click on the blue wording, and you will be taken right away to the reference.)The convenient part of the Khoe protogroup eventually found their way into South Africa, whence they spread out over the country, and eventually some of them made their way to the Cape region. When a group is separated from its source, its culture and language change. The next generation, forgetting their source, gave themselves a name. We do not know exactly what name the Cape Khoi gave themselves, but everywhere they preferred the European name "Bushmen" (people living in bushes) to the term "San," which they considered derogatory.The Kalahari Kung Bushmen called themselves zhu twa si, the harmless people. Where a Dutch sound is the same as Kora’s, it is retained. When it is different, the spirit of the pidgin will find a suitable substitute in Kora.The newborn pidgin is neither Kora nor Dutch, even though it is composed of the attributes of both. A pidgin is like a child born of a mother and father. The child has both the genes of her parents, but she is a unique and different person.Think about Afrikaans in this way.
