4.2 Kaaps

We do not believe that the Western way of “proving” a statement by giving several quotes, references, and a bibliography is liable to mislead. Any spiritual practitioner can see when there is error or deception. The current system is a flawed system. We believe that the Eastern Science of obtaining true knowledge (truth) is to experience the facts – or errors – oneself. So, that is what you must do. You must look at your own way of writing and see which rules you are using.

If you do not do this, then everything you know about Kaaps would be nothing short of parrot learning, i.e., knowledge without understanding through experience. Never change your spelling – there can be more than one rule for how to spell a word in Kaaps.

We try to limit our choices of Kaaps words to a maximum of three syllables, but perhaps, with the next letter, we can attach all the contributors' words. Then you will see the diverse ways different writers spell the same word. Then, with all these rules available to us, as well as some reading rules, we could conventionalise (form by agreement) the best spellings to use, but never create a standard as language patriarchs do, and then expect Kaapsers to speak their writing rules! The speaker will always be king or queen of our language.

To those writers that we will be using as part of our proofs of how Kaaps is written, we apologise for stopping in 2021. I tested negative for Covid 19, so I thought it was the best time to take the vaccine. I became so ill that I could hardly even turn my torso slightly without getting lung pains.

I fought this crazy vaccine because my Master (Supreme Master Ching Hai) did not appear to me to tell me when I would die. After I recovered, I refined what I had written to you – as you can see - and wrote lots of other things.

We are open to receiving a few pages from anyone who writes in Kaaps. We will not have the time to extract the words. So, we ask you to create a custom.dic and all the Kaaps words that you tell your Microsoft dictionary to add to the dictionary will be stored in it. You then send us two to three pages plus the text you had copied. Please also add the meanings of words or anything you think is peculiar about the word. If you can have a Kaaps, Meaning, Afrikaans, Dutch, and English column, it will help. If you do not know Dutch, try to find someone to write it in.

I only did Dutch as one-third of Afrikaans I at UNISA in 1981. I taught myself Dutch when I wanted to see how Dutch affected Kaaps. I did Linguistics I at UWC in 1986 because they did not offer English II and Afrikaans II that year. I knew absolutely nothing about languages, but something inside me said that I must not lose that year. For the first semester, I received 85% pass mark while 85% students failed. So, I decided to do Linguistics as my second major with Afrikaans because I did not see myself spending a year of English III, which dealt with Old English. So that is how I attained my Linguistics III major.
